Artist statement

Der Hauptfokus meiner künstlerischen Arbeit liegt auf Fotografie, Druckgrafik, Installation und performativen Praktiken. Experimentelle wie auch konzeptuelle Annäherungen an Thematiken wie das Erinnern und Bewahren oder das Erkunden von Beziehungsverhältnissen im Bereich Natur – Mensch sind kennzeichnend. Dabei eigne ich mir oft gefunde Materialien wie alte Fotografien oder Naturobjekte an und kombiniere sie, um sie schließlich in wechselseitige Beziehung zueinander zu stellen. Diese Arrangements implizieren häufig eine Verbindung von Fakten und Fiktion. Neue Sinnzusammenhänge mit narrativen Zügen werden evoziert. 
Aktuell interessiere ich mich vor allem für (Re)konstruktionsprozesse des menschlichen Bildes von Natur in Verbindung mit Identität und dem Erzählen persönlicher und kollektiver Geschichten der Entfremdung von und Vertrautheit zur Natur.

The main focus of my artistic practice is on photography, printmaking, installation and performative studies. 

Experimental as well as conceptual approaches to subjects such as remembering and preserving or exploring relationships in the field of human and nature are characteristic for my work. In doing so, I often appropriate found materials such as old photographs or natural objects, combine and finally place them in arrangements which imply a combination of facts and fiction. New contexts of meaning with narrative traits are evoked.

Currently I'm particulary interested in (re)construction processes of human's image of nature in connection with identity and telling personal and collective stories of alienation from and familarity with nature.
